A woman is unstoppable after she realizes she deserves better. Harjinder Kaur was the first woman to come forward to take part in AMMACHI Labs’ Rural Toilet Builder course (#RTB) in her village in Himachal Pradesh. In her village, open defecation is very common due to the usual developmental reasons and social issues. She was tired of the status-quo and was convinced that the course was going to change her life and her family’s. She was so excited to build her own toilet and went on to special training in community engagement. She became the facilitator for the area and is successfully leading her village towards better sanitation. Her immense force of character is a shining example to other women. Now, more women are interested in the project, much of this interest is because of Harjinder’s persistent enthusiasm.
