AMMACHI Labs’ “Women Empowerment: Community Sanitation through Democratic Participation” (WE:CSDP) project #TTT candidates visited Guptapada Village in Odisha during women Day celebrations, after their successful visits of Aditya Birla Foundations. Our community organisers introduced themselves to the villagers and explained why they are here. Even though they had some language barriers (villagers speak Odiya language) the interaction with villagers turned out to be good for both Train The Trainer program students and village women. TTT students utilised the opportunity to interact with the village community, shared their experiences from the sessions and played a drama on alcoholism.

Students of this TTT program are definitely going to be our change agents in their respective villages and will be assisting their community in obtaining benefits from available government schemes. They are confident and determined. While attending Life Enrichment Education sessions they have learned more about social issues and shared their experiences. Trainees also learned to use water testing device. TTT program covered the topics like financial literacy(Weekly expense & Monthly planning on the basis of their income).

During the closing ceremony of the TTT program, our chief guest Ms. Manaswani Mishra, District Social Welfare Officer for Women & Child Development spoke about empowering women & inspiring change. Ms. Padma, District Social Welfare Coordinator, Ms. Mamata Das, Chief Branch Manager of SBI (an all women’s branch), Ms. Mausami , Principal, Amrita Vidyalayam were also part of the all women panel who addressed the function.
